Stiletto’s High Performance Sailing Lessons
High performance catamaran sailing and racing tactics taught right here on the outer banks for the first time ever!
Don’t just learn to sail – learn to fly! When you are enrolled in Stiletto’s Outer Banks sailing lessons you will be taught basic sailing skills, but tailored to high performance catamaran sailing. All you have to do is watch the America’s cup and grand prix races to know that high speed cats are the future, and Stiletto has been out-sailing other catamarans for over 40 years. You should learn to sail on a boat that you would want to own and enjoy. A Stiletto is the perfect family-friendly, beachable trailerable sailboat, so learn on the best! If you are a seasonal resident or outer banks local, the Outer Banks Sailing Club Membership may be a great value for you to consider.
Stiletto’s Outer Banks sailing lessons are designed to take anyone from novice to racing in 5 days. We begin with the basics and cover much of the US sailing recommended basic sailing curriculum, but include the tactics and handling appropriate for a high speed catamaran.
Sailing Lesson Schedule
Class begins at 8:00am each day and finishes at 12noon. So while your other friends are still ‘sleeping it off’, you can be out enjoying the water and learning a cool new watersport!
Five Day Program
Stiletto Catamarans Outer Banks sailing lessons are really “Learn to Sail High Performance”! Limited to 6 students on one boat, this is an exciting way to learn catamaran high performance sailing on a boat that is custom designed for the Outer Banks. This program is for novice sailors and folks who have never sailed a lightweight high performance catamaran. Hold on to your hats, because we will teach you to fly on one hull! This is a great package to spice up your summer vacation instead of wasting your vacation mornings in a daze. And since it is in the morning, you will still have the prime part of the day to enjoy the beach and other fun stuff on the Beautiful Outer Banks. Ages from 13 and up are encouraged to enroll.
What To Expect
This is a hands on program where you will be sailing the boat for at least 3 hours, weather permitting. Your US Sailing Certified Instructor will start you off with simple tasks and build your confidence so you can start tackling more difficult sailing techniques. The morning starts at 8 am at the dock, where you get a walk through of some sailing knowledge for the first hour. Then you board the boats and start sailing until you return to the dock at noon.
Reservations and Cancellation Policy
There is a 3 person minimum registration for the week for the program to commence. This program sails in almost all weather conditions. The worse the weather, the better the learning experience and the better a sailor you will become. Remember that training in perfect weather is easy, but does not prepare you for the challenges you may face on the water when the weather catches you off guard.
